In depth · A website that finally loads

A website that finally loads.

A slow, plugin-heavy template replaced with a fast, accessible site on a modern stack, at the top of the speed scores on mobile.

The problem

The site ran on a template carrying several plugins more than it needed. Pages arrived late, then jumped around as pop-ups and spinners loaded in, and on a phone the wait was long enough for visitors to leave before reading a word.

What we did

  1. 01

    Cleared the way

We dropped the template, the extra plugins and the pop-ups that stood between visitors and the content.

  2. 02

    Built a design system

A small set of components and type styles, so every page is consistent and a new page doesn't add new weight.

  3. 03

    Made speed a requirement

Performance was checked on mobile throughout the build, not tuned at the end.

What changed

The site now loads fast and stays still while it does: no spinners, no jumping layout. It's accessible, built on a modern stack and at the top of the speed scores on mobile.
